What is FAPIIS?

FAPIIS, the Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System, is the government's database of contractor integrity and performance records. It captures events such as terminations for default or cause, defective-pricing findings, and certain civil, criminal, or administrative proceedings connected to federal awards.

Contracting officers are directed to review FAPIIS as part of the contractor responsibility determination before larger awards. A portion of FAPIIS is published for public view; some records are restricted. It complements the SAM.gov exclusions list — exclusions tell you a party is barred, while FAPIIS records integrity history that may not rise to an exclusion.

FAPIIS is one of the three federal procurement records Fonteum's government silo is built on, alongside the SAM.gov exclusion spine and USASpending award transactions. As with every record here, an integrity event is reported as a dated fact tied to its source, never as a score or accusation, and always with a path back to the official record so the reader can confirm it directly.
